International visiting lecturers

Professor Ramon Puig Cuyas and Silvia Walz from Escola Massana in Barcelona each delivered captivating lectures to a full audience of staff and students. Both presented reflective narrative journeys which were personal, shared and yet demonstrated a distinct and individual aesthetic. Especially valuable was insight into their working methodology, together with images of their workshop overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The inspiring lectures were followed by discussion with students on a variety of School courses.
As a result of the warm relationship that exists between the staff of the two institutions, the Head of School has proposed to curate a joint exhibition between Barcelona and Birmingham, to be mounted here in November and touring to Massana in Spring 2010.
