Gaynor is director for the HND Jewellery & Silversmithing course and the top-up degree BA (Hons) Design for Industry. These courses relate closely to the industry and Gaynor has built strong links with manufacturing jewellery companies through live competitions and collaborative projects. She has gained support and sponsorship for the School of Jewellery over her 30-year association with Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. She also supervises Knowledge Transfer Partnerships and is involved with developing courses internationally.

Gaynor is a Teaching Fellow of the university for her work involving CAD and Haptics technology. She works closely with the Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre to bring aspects of new technology into the curriculum and is passionate about combining practical skills and exciting new processes with good design.

In her spare time she tries to keep fit and is learning to play golf.
