World Event Young Artists
06-Feb-2013

School of Jewellery graduate and Artist-in-Resident Grace Page was thrilled to be part of the inaugural World Event Young Artists in Nottingham this month.
Over the space of 10 days the festival brought together 1000 artists from 100 nations for a diverse and exciting programme of events featuring every art form imaginable and more. From fine art, sculpture and jewellery to dance, film, theatre and Bolivian melon carving Nottingham hosted the best of what 18-30 year olds from around the world have to offer.
Also exhibiting alongside Grace in the Bonington Gallery was another familiar face from the School of Jewellery, previous Artist-in-Resident and visiting lecturer, Rachael Colley.
Grace said it was an honour to be selected to represent the UK and have the opportunity to exhibit my work to such an international audience. For me the most enjoyable aspect was meeting other young artists from other countries and seeing what they had to offer. Without WEYA I would never have had the chance to do this and so much of the inspiring work that I saw would never have reached my attention.ђ
