Jewellery Making for Beginners with Carlton Campbell

5 July – 9 July 2010, cost £395

This course is a fantastic opportunity for anyone starting out in jewellery making. You will learn basic traditional jewellery techniques and be given you a wealth of hints and tips including guidance on problem solving to help you continue making after the course. You will begin practising techniques on base metals and by the end of the course you will have produced a simple piece of silver jewellery and gained enough confidence to continue making at home. During the course you will visit to local suppliers, where the tutor will guide you in the purchase of materials and tools required for your individual project and provide invaluable expert advice. The cost for tools and materials is estimated at £100, however this will vary depending on your individual needs, all purchases are optional but if you wish to use Silver you will need to make a local purchase with the tutor’s guidance.

Caught in the Act – 1 day jewellery workshop with Pia Aleborg

Monday 2 August 2010, cost £175

During this exciting one day workshop suitable for all, Pia will offer you the opportunity to transform a favourite, unusual or even disturbing object from daily life into a personal piece of contemporary jewellery. You will be required to bring as many personal items with you as possible and by the end of the day you will have created a personal, innovative and surprising piece of jewellery, something that’s means more to you than mere decoration. No previous jewellery making experience is required to benefit from this course.
