Grand First Prize in the British Art Medal Society (BAMS) Competition

At a special presentation ceremony held on the 9th March in the splendid Cutler’s Hall of the Worshipful Company of Founders in London, student Rosie White, National Diploma – Design Crafts, received the Grand First Prize in the British Art Medal Society (BAMS) Competition.

The award was presented by the former Master of the Worshipful Company, Jeremy Lansdell, and Director of the BAMS Student Medal Project, Marcy Leavitt Bourne.

As part of her prize, Rosie will attend the annual conference of BAMS, held in Cardiff this April, and her winning medal will thereafter be exhibited at the British Museum in London. Zahra Dell also won an Honourable Mention, which was collected on her behalf by Head of School, Professor Jack Cunningham.

The School of Jewellery will host the 2011 exhibition of the Student Medal Project
