Blooming Boulton
08-Jul-2009
It seems, in the year of Matthew Boulton’s bicentenary, that everything is coming up reflecting him or his work.
Our picture shows an extremely large Boulton-esque tureen, the work of the city’s Parks & Gardens department.
Fittingly, it has just been erected outside St Pauls Church – the jewellers church, in the jewellery quarter. Reference is made in the church to the pews used by Boulton and his family.
It will be interesting over the summer to see how the ‘tureen’ blossoms.
