MA Graduate Tusheeta David's Acrylic Jewellery wins her the Treasure Designer of the Year in London's Coutts Jewellery Week.
Following a prestigious career designing for an Oscar nominated Bollywood film, the Milan Fashion Week and for the Miss India Pageant, this leading designer has just won the Treasure Designer of the Year Award in London. Amongst seventy elite designers, she was recognized for her excellence in visionary design and the use of the cutting edge technology. She wins a one week break at the five-star Mykonos Theoxenia Hotel in Greece.
Tusheeta crafts each stunning piece of jewellery from her workshop located in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter within Birmingham, where she has been awarded a place on Birmingham City Council’s Design Space scheme. Avant-garde designs are combined with her signature style of vivid colours and laser technology, to create intricate, mesmerising patterns. She is inspired by microscopic images found in nature, and her current collection entitled Veiled Existence is bold and vibrant.
When questioned about the award, she says “I am excited and honoured to win this award as I was competing with several other very talented designers. I hope this signals a new era of appreciation and perception of new base materials for jewellery, as well as integration of modern technology into traditional craftsmanship.”
