This year British Craft Trade Fair in Harrogate will play host to a group of exciting new talent in the form of ‘Design Space’- a council run scheme from Birmingham which gives designer makers head start in the business world.
18 emerging jewellers and silversmiths will launch their latest collections at the fair, which takes place at the Yorkshire Showground from 5th- 7th April, and are sure to wow audiences with an array of beautifully crafted jewellery and silverware.
A visit to the ‘Design Space’ stand will show you a wealth of different materials, techniques and forms- with each designer possessing a unique style and approach to their work. Some designers prefer the traditional medium of silver and gold, while others opt for more unusual materials such as acrylic, paper, fabric or pieces of exotic wood. Jewellery using modern laser cutting techniques will be exhibited alongside hand- raised vessels, intricately soldered brooches and colourful textile neckpieces. The result is a plethora of stunning designs, which represent the variety of skills and materials applied to the world of contemporary jewellery and silversmithing.
