10-Oct-2008
Artist jeweller Abigail Stradling will see two pieces of her work exhibited at the British Glass Biennale 2008, a major exhibition of contemporary glass which offers awards of £8000, £5000 and £1000.
The biennale is the highlight of the International Festival of Glass which includes exhibitions, workshops, lectures and demonstrations, all taking place in the historic glass haven of Stourbridge, West Midlands.
Abigail graduated from the School of Jewellery’s BA course in 2006 and has continued to develop and exhibit her work combining hand blown and lamp worked glass with precious metals. Abigail’s submission was one of the 81 selected by the judging panel out of the 235 artists that applied. Abigail states, “I am very proud to have been selected and am exited at the prospect of promoting the use of glass in jewellery on this fantastic platform.”
The exhibition runs from Friday August 22nd until Sunday September 28th. For more information visit www.biennale.org.uk or www.abigailstradling.co.uk
